Loss of the Portland
This newspaper article in the Portland Daily Press, dated January 1, 1967, is from the collection of George W. Ferguson, Centerville, MA. and loaned to the Provincetown History Project for inclusion in its archive. It tells of the loss of the Steamer Portland and has a photo of Benjamin O. Eldredge, possibly the last living survivor to have seen beach the night the Portland went down.
