Historic District Survey information for 9 Center St
Architectural Description: 9 Center Street is a 2 1/2-story, 3-bay sidehall house with a rear ell. The front-gable roof is clad in asphalt shingles; full return; brick interior chimney on south slope. The main entry contains a wood panel door with full surround - pilasters, 4-pane sidelights and entablature top; accessed by concrete and brick step. A secondary entrance is located on the south facade, and contains a wood panel door; 3-pane transom and modern storm door. Fenestration includes 6/6 wood DHS with wood surrounds and operable shutters. A rear section extends northward from the rear (east) portion of the building. This 1-story section is clad in wood shingles. The side gable roof is clad in wood shingles; exterior end brick chimney. The entry to this section consists of a pane and panel aluminum door accessed on the west facade by concrete and brick steps. Fenestration consists of 6/6 wood DHS.
