Historic District Survey information for 17 Center St
Architectural Description: 17 Center Street is a 2 1/2-story, 5-bay, Astylistic building with a 2-story rear ell; the cross gable roof is clad in asphalt shingles, with partial cornice returns; The building is clad with wood shingles at the first story, and asbestos shingles above; the fenestration has been altered heavily and includes 1/1 vinyl DHS with wood surrounds, a Chicago-style window on south facade, 1st floor and single-pane vinyl awning windows; the primary entrance are pane and panel vinyl doors with wood storms; rear exterior stairs to 2nd and 3rd story entrance. A 1-story cottage facing Bradford has been added to the rear of this building. The 1-story cottage is 3-bays wide with an exterior concrete block chimney on the north facade.
