Historic District Survey information for 3 Court St
Architectural Description: 2-story, 5-bay house; faces south; asphalt roof shingles; interior brick chimney; eave encased in vinyl; 2/1 DHS, 1/2 wood DHS with replacement sash; pane and panel wood central door accessed by brick steps; full facade 1st story porch with hipped roof and turned posts with decorative brackets and Victorian appliqué; exterior steps on east side.
Historical Narrative: As per Tom Boland (1994): The house is shown on the map of 1836 and the atlas of 1858. In 1880, it was owned by R. Collis. A directory for 1886 lists a Manuel Mede, a fisherman and a Walter O'Connors as residing there, but no reference is made to Mr. O'Connor's occupation. By 1907, 3 Court Street had come under the ownership of W. Welch.
