Historic District Survey information for 6 Webster Pl
Architectural Description: 6 Webster Place is a 1-story, 4-bay 3/4 cottage. Wood shingled side-gable roof with central brick chimney. Main entrance contains a panel door with storm surrounded by pilasters and entablature. Wood 6/6 DHS with storms and operable louver shutters and wood trim are located directly below eaves. Gable end ell-shaped dormer on rear with 6/6 and 1/1 DHS windows. 2-story set back side addition with side gable roof, central brick chimney and sliding glass door entrance on south facade. 6/6 DHS with storms. 2-story set back addition on west side of ell with 1/1 DHS and octagonal window. 1-story extension to north has entrance on east facade. 1/1 DHS and roof deck above. Wood shingle cladding on rear facade of main section and on all additions.
Historical Narrative: As per Josephine Del Deo (1977): Position of the house near "Fairbanks House" indicates age and integral part of central community - just below High School Hill. House is indicated on all maps beginning 1858, previous maps not clear indicators of residences. Previous owners G. Snow, 1880, W. Smith, 1907.
