Historic District Survey information for 8 Pearl St
Architectural Description: 8 Pearl St. is a 1 1/2-story, 4-bay 3/4 cottage with side ell. Front-gable roof with partial returns; brick chimneys are located at the ridge of side ell and at the ridge of front-gable roof. Shed dormers on front and rear of side ell; frieze below eaves. Corner pilasters present. Southernmost bay now encompassed in partially enclosed porch that extends the length of the side ell. The main entry contains a panel door with sidelights and wood surround with entablature; accessed by a concrete and brick stoop. A secondary entrance is located at the southern end of the porch. This section of porch is open, with battered columns supporting the end. Wood shingle clad half wall continues that of enclosed portion of porch. Exterior wood stairs lead to a south gable end entry. Fenestration includes 2/2 wood DHS with wood trim; 6/6 DHS windows in south gable end.
