Architectural Description: 6 Winthrop Street is a 1-1/2-story, 3-bay sidehall entry building with a brick chimney at the rear gable end, 2 gabled dormers on the south slope and 1 on the north slope. Main entry is recessed panel door with storm and sidelights. The heavy surround includes pilasters and entablature. The gable end is fully pedimented. Windows are 6/6 wood DHS with wood trim and operable louvered shutters. The gable end window (top) has paired end brackets. Two 2-story rear additions; the rear-most is clad in wood shingles and has exterior steps leading to 2nd story deck and entry. Skylight in 1st rear addition.
Historical Narrative: According to a plaque on the building, this is a "floated-over" house from the mid-19th century.
