Architectural Description: 3 Winthrop Place is a 1-1/2-story, 3-bay building with side ell; cross-gable roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles; interior brick ridge chimney; skylights; fenestration includes 6/6 DHS wood throughout with operable shutters on front facade and inoperable on other facades, 1/1 wood DHS replacement in basement on front facade; original main entrance is accessed by a pane-and-panel wood door on left side of front (south gable end); partial returns and corner pilasters; 2nd-floor sliding glass doors is accessed by exterior steps and balcony; two basement access doors require step down from grade; north side has 1-story flat-roof addition with poured concrete foundation, Chicago-style window with flanking 4/4 wood DHS, and pane-and-panel door accessed on west side by wood steps and deck; rooftop deck.
