Historic District Survey information for 12 Court St
Architectural Description: 12 Court Street is a 1 1/2-story, 4-bay 3/4 cottage with rear ell. The front-gable roof has partial returns; brick chimney at roof ridge. The eastern entry has a panel door with storm, sidelights, pilasters and entablature. South facade also has panel entry door with storm, and 4-light transom. Fenestration includes 2/2 and 2/1 wood DHS. A rear ell extends from the north end of the west facade. A side ell from the rear of this rear ell, extending toward the south, has recently been constructed.
Historical Narrative: A sign on the building indicates a c. 1820 construction date. The National Register nomination also agrees with this date.
