Historic District Survey information for 50 Commercial St
Architectural Description: This building is a 2-story, 3-bay front gable dwelling with wood shingle cladding. The roof features a wood cornice with partial returns and gable dormers on each roof slope. An exterior brick chimney rises up the western facade. The primary entrance contains a replacement door with storm, Greek Revival door surround with pilasters, sidelights and paired brackets. A full-width porch with turned posts and balustrade and lattice below the deck wraps around west side of the building. Fenestration is comprised of single and paired 2/2 DHS. One of the dormers on the east facade contains a Chicago-style window. There are two additions at the rear - one with a mansard roof and one with gable roof. Each addition contains its own entry and 2/2 DHS.
